The Chinese Pavilion was build in commission of King Leopold II (you know, that dude that was a meaner piece of shit than the regular Disney villain) and opened in 1913. It should be open all year and have a oriental museum in it, but for some reason, it was always closed when we got there. Luckily there is also a garden in which you can walk around and sit on a bench while drinking Cara and looking at confused tourists who thought “open” in Dutch actually means “open”.
Next to the Chinese Pavilion there is the Japanese tower that is, surprise surprise, closed until further notice but from what we saw on the www, it looks very beautiful on the inside.
